Woods Wandering: September 2015

My brother Goober (Gary) and his girlfriend Darline came for a visit. This is the first visit of anyone from my family in about 15 years. It was great getting to spend time with them.

They arrived on Friday evening, we just visited and had a cookout at home. On Saturday we took them to the monthly flea market at the fairgrounds. After spending several hours at the flea market we went downtown to have some lunch and walk around town. We saw some interesting sights around town.

We had lunch at Luigi's City Pizza - very yummy.

Downtown Nashville is very walkable and interesting. You see a whole assortment of people while walking around.

After walking around downtown we went home and sat around for some more visiting and another cookout on our patio.

On Sunday after breakfast at Waffle House (a place Darline loves to go) we went to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens in west Nashville. It was a beautiful sunny day and the gardens were amazing. Here is a small sampling of some of the sculptures, pools, etc.

Monday was a bit on the gloomy side so we headed over to the Opryland Hotel. This is an amazing hotel. They have an indoor garden conservatory, boat rides on the interior canal. It's a must for any new visitor to Nashville.
